The Fortuna Huskies won a non-league game at Kelseyville in boys basketball on Saturday to give them some momentum heading into the final week of the regular season.

The Huskies won 65-60 and the victory over a fellow Division-4 North Coast Section tournament will help solidify their playoff positioning.

Alfonso Medina scored a team-high 15 points in the win, while also dishing out 12 assists for a double-double.

Teammate Russell Pascascio also continued to impress in the win and scored 12 points, while Donald Bickle added 11 points and Cody Collins finished with nine points.

With the victory, the Huskies improved to 16-9 on the season.

Jake Houseworth also had a good game and chipped in seven points to go with six rebounds, while Dylan O’Loughlin added six points in what was a balanced offensive team performance with eight different Fortuna players scoring.

The Huskies are currently ranked No. 8 in NCS Division 4, according to MaxPreps, while Kelseyville is No. 13.

The Fortuna boys are also third in the Big 5, with one game remaining, and they are two wins clear of both Eureka and Del Norte, which each have two games remaining.

The top three teams in the Big 5 will qualify for next week’s Dick Niclai Tournament.

The Huskies close out the regular season at Del Norte on Tuesday night.
