Stormy weather continues to impact H-DNL schedule

Ray Hamill/HumboldtSports.com – The Eureka girls will have to wait a few more days to begin league play after Thursday’s game at Crescent City was postponed.

By Ray Hamill — Power outages and the stormy weather continue to affect the H-DNL schedule, with more games postponed on Thursday morning.

The Big 5 girls basketball showdown between Del Norte and Eureka scheduled for Crescent City has been pushed back, with Saturday, Jan. 14, the likely make-up date.

Thursday’s Little 4 girls basketball opener between St. Bernard’s and South Fork in Miranda also has been postponed.

With power outages still affecting Southern Humboldt, the two teams will now face off at St. Bernard’s as part of a triple-header on Friday evening, and they will play in Miranda later in the month.

The South Fork and SB boys teams will also play in Eureka on Friday, with the JVs tipping off at 4:30 p.m., followed by the varsity girls at 6 and the varsity boys at 7:30.

Thursday’s girls games at Fortuna between the Huskies and McKinleyville Panthers will go ahead as scheduled.

The Eureka and South Fork boys, meanwhile, have confirmed that Wednesday’s postponed JV and varsity games in Miranda will now take place on Monday night.
