Young Steelheads close out debut season undefeated

It’s safe to say it was s successful debut campaign for the Northern Humboldt Steelheads 10Us.

The young Steelheads capped a perfect year with their fourth tournament championship in four tournaments at the Turkey Slam in Medford over the weekend and close out 16-0.

In four tournament games, they outscored their opponents 37-11, with the Steelhead pitchers — Brylon Smith, Parker Morgan, Mason Webster and Taylor Shrewsberry — combining for 23 strikeouts.

Shrewsberry also led the way at the plate and finished with seven hits, while Webster had six hits, and Morgan, Asher Avelar and Jayce Daniels four apiece.

Smith, Lucas Ball, Dominic Brown and Colton McCullough also contributed at the plate.

Defensively, Morgan, Shrewsberry, Smith and Daniels all did a good job holding down the infield.
