Huskies dominate the Blazers for second straight win

After a disappointing September, the Fortuna Huskies are building some momentum ahead of league play.

On Friday night, the Huskies won 47-0 at Lindhurst and they will carry a two-game winning streak into a bye next weekend, before opening the Big 4 against St. Bernard’s in two weeks.

They 3-4 Huskies dominated the Blazers and scored on their opening seven possessions of the game, including all five first-half drives.

Six different players scored touchdowns in a balanced team performance, including Jake Houseworth, who continued his very impressive season with TD runs of four and two yards, both in the opening quarter.

Will Stringer also scored on a 45-yard TD run and had 60 yards rushing on two carries, while Caden Wilkinson had 51 yards on six carries and scored on a 16-yard run.

Matt Letter also had 42 yards on three carries, while quarterback Coltyn Corning completed 5 of 6 passes for 102 yards, including a 50-yard TD throw to Tegan Rumley.

Chad Mussey also had an eight-yard TD run and Chris Duey scored on a three-yard TD run.

Rogan Gans led the receivers with 62 yards on four catches.

As a team, the Huskies rushed for 238 yards and passed for 124 more.

Lindhurst dropped to 1-7.

The Fortuna JVs also won on Friday, defeating Lindhurst 36-8.
