By Ray Hamill — It has been quite a return to football this season for the Corsairs, who are proving to be a resilient and highly-entertaining team.
College of the Redwoods won for the third straight week on Saturday, defeating the Foothill Owls 44-42 in a double-OT thriller at the Redwood Bowl.
It was the team’s second overtime win this year and their fifth straight game decided by just one score.
“This team is resilient. They fight,” White said of his players. “We’re going to come out and we’re going to battle all the way to the end. That’s kind of been our identity.”
No one more so than former Fortuna Husky Max Hough, who made his first collegiate start at quarterback on Saturday and had a career game.
Hough accounted for five of CR’s six touchdowns, throwing for three and running in for two.
Check out our game highlights above, including five of the Corsairs’ TDs and all the big plays from a thrilling overtime that ended on a Preston Reid interception in the end zone on a two-point conversion attempt by Foothill..
And, of course, we’ve got some footage of the postgame celebrations and the CR players’ reaction to the big win.
