Sofie Sundberg solidified her lead in H-DNL girls golf with her best round of the season on Thursday.
Playing at the Eureka Municipal Golf Course, the McKinleyville senior dominated with a round of 85, which was 12 strokes better than the field.
Only one other golfer broke 100 on the day, and that was Arcata’s Avery Meadows, who capped a big week with a 97.
It was the second time this week that Meadows led the way for the Tigers, having also shot a team-best round to lead them to victory at the Red Bluff tournament on Monday.
Sundberg, meanwhile, has posted the best score in league in three of the four rounds this seasons and is well on her to defending the H-DNL crown she won last year.
As a team, the Arcata Tigers also continued to dominate and had four girls place in the top 10.
Arcata’s Madyson Nelson had the third best round of the day with a 100, while Eureka’s Ileah Brannon and McKinleyville’s Neyr’res Bartoo each shot a 105.
St. Bernard’s Hannah Finck and Arcata’s Sagen Sarchett were next best with rounds of 106, followed by St. Bernard’s Allyson Hagler (107), Del Norte’s Sophia Jagger (107) and Arcata’s Amaya Urquidez (108).
H-DNL play will continue on Monday at the Baywood Golf & Country Club.
