The Arcata Tigers won their second straight league game in volleyball on Thursday night to keep pressure on Big 5 leaders Del Norte and Eureka.

The Tigers defeated rivals McKinleyville in three sets at Arcata High, 25-9, 25-9, 25-17.

Reigning Big 5 MVP Sydney Hasselquist led a balanced team performance with a team-best six kills, while teammates Audrey Dart, Caroline Dieker and Quincy Collins each had five kills.

Junior Nora Talty also had a big night and finished with 22 assists and four aces, while Lily Rust-Kelley led the defense with eight digs, as well as finishing with with four aces.

With the win, the Arcata girls improved to 2-1 in league play.

Del Norte and Eureka are both off to a 2-0 start in the Big 5.
