Competing for the first time ever this summer, the Northern Humboldt Steelheads 10Us continued to roll in Oregon this past weekend.
The Steelheads won all four of their games at the Medford Jamba Patriot Day Tournament on their way to the championship.
It was the second tourney title for the team in just a few weeks, following their championship at the Midsummer Sizzler tournament in Medford last month.
For the weekend, the Steelheads averaged more than 10 runs a game and outscored their four opponents by a combined 42-14.
Parker Morgan had a big weekend for the team and threw a no-hitter and hit an inside-the-park home run against the Eureka Giants.
And that’s not all.
Parker was named team tournament MVP after finishing the four games 10-for-10 at the plate with nine RBIs, as well as striking out 11 on the mound.
He wasn’t the only Steelheads player to have a big weekend.
Colton McCullough hit a three-run home run in the championship game, while teammates Taylor Shrewsberry, Jared Brunner, Mason Webster, Lucas Lopez, Dominic Brown and Jayce Daniels all were instrumental in the team’s success.
Brylon Smith and Mason Webster both were “locked in defensively,” according to the coaches.
