Jeremy Doss set a new track record in qualifying and would go on to take the checkered flag in both main events at the second annual Legends of the Redwoods Shootout at the Redwood Acres Raceway on Saturday night.

Doss was one of 18 drivers on hand for the night’s big race, which was presented by Papé Machinery.

The new track record for the division was set during qualifying (17.565), but Doss was just getting started.

The first 30-lap main event was a stop-and-go affair, but Doss took the victory ahead of Brandon White, who battled back from an early setback to place second.

Brett Murrell, Tyler Krupa and Chris Lawrence rounded out the top thrive.

Doss’ domination continued in the second main event with the win earning him a check for $2,000.

White placed second again and earned $800, followed by Krupa, Kylie Daniels and Aiden Daniels.

The Bombers, Mini Stocks and Roadrunners were also in action on Saturday night, as was a contingent of Bandoleros drivers from the Mendocino and Lake County areas.

Krupa placed first in the Bombers main event, followed by Jordan Krupa in second, with Raquel Krupa, Steve Kimberling and Kadence Toland rounding out the top five.

Gary Klinetobe had a big night in the Mini Stocks, winning both the heat race and the main event, with Cole Peterson, Colton Kinsey, Nick Ford and Murrell, Jr. rounding out the top five in the latter.

Tanisha Ratzlaff placed first in the Roadrunners main event, followed by Brian Hopkins, Dylan Ford, Solomon Kessenich and Nick Ford.

It was also a good night for Ronnie DenBeste in the Bondoleros division.

DenBeste dominated on the way to victory in the main event, with Travis Powers second, followed by Lucas Hoben, McKayla Johnson and Jarrett Dickson.

The Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series will headline the next race night at the local raceway on Aug. 13, with the Rumble In The Redwoods 125 expected to draw top talent from outside the county.

The Legends and Bombers will also be in action.
