First District 26 All-Star tournament begins this weekend

By Ray Hamill — The first of three District 26 Little League All-Star tournaments kicks off this weekend in Arcata.

The 8-10s tournament gets under way on Saturday, with two games scheduled.

Game one will see Klamath Trinity play Southern Humboldt at noon, while game two will see Eel River play host Arcata at 3 p.m.

The double-elimination, six-team tourney continues on Sunday, with two more games scheduled.

McKinleyville will play the winner of the Klamath Trinity/Southern Humboldt game at noon, followed by Redwood Empire and the winner of the Eel River/Arcata game at 3 p.m.

Earlier this week, Trinity Diesel defeated Rich Drilling 12-2 in an all-McKinleyville Tournament of Champions championship game.
