By Ray Hamill — So who were the best high school athletes, teams and coaches on the North Coast this past school year?
There are certainly plenty of good choices.
Humboldt Sports is happy to announce we will be naming our Big 5 and Little 4 boys and girls athletes of the year soon, along with our team of the year and coach of the year.
Thanks to the generous support of our award sponsors — The Mendes Supply Company, The Stove Doctors and Six Rivers Property Management — this year we also be handing out plaques to the winners in all six categories.
Early next week, we will begin naming the five finalists in each category, with the winners set to be announced the following week.
Congratulations to all the athletes, teams and coaches who have been considered.
It was a fun year for fans and a fun year to be back out there and covering the games.
