Lumberjacks named to All-American strength and conditioning team

Cal Poly Humboldt Athletics

Four Cal Poly Humboldt student athletes have been named to the 2022 National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) All-American team.

Volleyball players Hannah Cantrell and Carla Crespo join track and field’s Joy Hano and Kegan Richards in receiving the honor.

The NSCA presents these awards to student athletes that have accomplishments in and dedication to strength and conditioning, and all four Lumberjacks were nominated by Humboldt’s strength and conditioning coach Drew Petersen.

“Strength is the foundation of athleticism and performance,” Petersen said. “Our athletes spend a great deal of time working on this foundation in the weight room. The NSCA recognizes their efforts with the annual All America Strength and Conditioning Awards.”

Since the inception of the NSCA All-American Awards, 118 Lumberjacks have received this honor.

Founded in 1978, the NSCA is a non-profit association dedicated to advancing the strength and conditioning and related sport science professions around the world.
