Lassen pitching shuts down the Corsairs bats

The Corsairs dropped three baseball games at Lassen this weekend, losing 10-0 on Friday and 17-5 and 6-1 on Saturday.

College of the Redwoods is now 3-12 in the Golden Valley Conference and 9-19 overall.

It was a tough weekend offensively for the Corsairs against a quality Lassen pitching staff.

“Lassen played really well was able to silence our bats offensively,” CR head coach Andrew Aiello said. “Their pitching staff did a good job of keeping our hitters in check throughout the series. They are a tough program, but we still didn’t execute to the best of our abilities collectively.”

Aiello is in his first full year in charge and is trying to establish a culture that he feels will benefit the program going forward.

And he believes his players are working towards that goal.

“We are still working hard and changing the culture within the program, which is one of our main focuses now and moving forward,” he said.

Lassen improved to 9-6 in conference and 18-11 overall.

Next up, the Corsairs will host Butte in two games next weekend.
