Former Hoopa Warrior Nas-Che-Wen Hunsucker had an afternoon to remember at Shasta on Friday, but overall it was a disappointing weekend for the College of the Redwoods softball team.
Hunsucker hit two home runs in one game, as the Corsairs went 0-4 in a pair of doubleheaders at Shasta and Siskiyous, including three one-run losses.
The CR women fell 4-3 and 16-15 at Shasta, and lost 17-4 and 7-6 at Siskiyous on Saturday.
Hunsucker led a 15-hit team performance in the second game at Shasta, finishing 4-for-5 with two home runs and three RBIs.

Samantha Caughie also had a big game and was 4-for-5 with a triple, while Brooke Faraimo finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs and Kyla Pontoni was 2-for-4 with a home run and six RBIs.
Faraimo, Pontoni and Sadie Hampton each hit successfully in all four weekend games.
Hampton had two hits and a pair of stolen bases in game one against Shasta, and also had a triple in game one against Siskiyous.
Caughie and Faraimo each added three hits in game two on Saturday, while Kathryce Danzuka was 2-for-4
With the losses the Corsairs drop to 1-7 in the Golden Valley Conference and 3-18-1 overall.
Former Del Norte Warriors McKenzy Fernandes finished with three hits for Shasta in Friday’s doubleheader, including a double.
The Corsairs travel for a doubleheader at Butte this weekend.
