The Fortuna Huskies cruised to an 18-0 win over Hoopa in five innings on Tuesday, improving to 7-2 on the season as they get set to open league play next week.

Cole Ayala got the win on the mound and was one of five Huskies pitchers that threw one inning each.

At the plate, 12 different Huskies got at least one hit, including Matt Letter, Rylan Lommori and Tyler Schlesiger, each of whom had two hits, including a double.

Drew Franklin and Rogan Gans each also had a pair of hits in the win, while Ayala, Daniel Osborne, Colt Chamberlain, Cayden Danbrauskas, Coldy Collins, Cole Victorine and Troy Bugbee each also had a hit.

“We put the ball in play,” head coach Andy Olsen said. “A lot of guys got in and got hits, and I was pleased with the pitching.”

The Hoopa Warriors were playing just their second game of the year and dropped to 0-2.

Lyle Mckinnon and Alan Mace each had a base hit for Hoopa.
