The Arcata Tigers rolled to a comfortable 11-1 win over St. Bernard’s in the championship game of the Crusaders Classic baseball tournament at the Bear River Sports Complex on Saturday night.

With the win, the Tigers improve to 3-0 on the young season, having also defeated University Prep 3-2 and Middletown 13-0 in tournament play on Friday.

No Arcata stats from Saturday’s game were immediately available.

St. Bernard’s Cayden Lee took the loss on the mound and led his team offensively, going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles.

Teammate Nick Dugan was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Despite the loss, St. Bernard’s head coach Matt Tomlin was pleased with his team’s early-season tournament performance after the Crusaders won a pair of games on Friday to reach the championship.

“I was very happy with how we played,” he said. “We still are trying to catch up for how long our basketball team was playing.

“But I was very happy with our pitching and I thought we swung the bats very well in the first two games.”

The Crusaders are now 3-1.
