The Panthers came out swinging the bats on the opening day of the new softball season, scoring 35 runs in a doubleheader sweep of Enterprise at McKinleyville High on Saturday.
The Mack girls won 20-0 in four innings in game one, and followed that with a 15-4 win in five innings.
Camryn Pinard had a huge day at the plate for the Panthers, hitting a triple and a pair of doubles in the opener and following that with her first home run of the season in game two.
Teammate Allie Egbert also got the new season off to an impressive start, finishing with a pair of hits in each game, including three doubles.
Egbert also got the win in the pitcher’s circle in game two, allowing just three hits and four walks in five innings, while striking out six.
Kennedy Minton also had two hits in each game, including a home run in the opener, While Raina Ausburn was 3-for-3 in the opener with a double.
Ausburn also pitched all four innings for the win, allowing two hits and a walk and striking out seven.
Mashell Stumpf added a double in both games, while Taya Gomes and Morgan Stubbs each also hit a double in the opener.
