Fortuna girls top St. Bernard’s, go to 2-0 in softball

The Fortuna girls rolled to their second win in two days in softball on Wednesday, beating St. Bernard’s 15-3 in five innings.

Kylee Fennell picked up the win in the circle, throwing three innings and allowing four hits and one walk while striking out two.

Libby Johnston also continued her strong start to the new season and pitched two shutout innings in relief, while allowing two hits and no walks.

Zoe Dewberry led the way at the plate in the win, famishing 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, while teammate Faith Helms was 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

Johnston completed a good all-around game by going 2-for-3 with an RBI, while teammate Mariah Smoth had a triple.

Emma Wilson led the way for the Crusaders, hitting a two-run home run and a triple, while also being hit by a pitch.
