March Madness got started with a bang in Crescent City this past weekend, as the Rio Dell boys closed out their season with a thrilling finish at the 53rd annual Jaycees boys basketball tournament.

The end of the C Division championship game was as exciting as you’ll see the rest of the month at any level, as the Rio Dell Monument boys battled back from an eight-point deficit in the final 40 seconds.

Check out the closing highlights above, as they scored the final 11 points of the game to beat Redwood Prep 56-53, including the game-winning 3-pointer on a buzzer-beater by Ty Roberts from way downtown.

Paris Magdaleno and Ray Osorio were each also instrumental in the comeback, with Magdaleno scoring eight unanswered points to tie the game, including a couple of pinpoint 3s, one of which was set up on an Osorio steal.
