The Eureka Loggers got the local high school baseball season under way over the weekend, splitting a pair of games on the road.
On Friday, the Loggers lost 13-2 at San Marin, before bouncing back to win 8-2 at Novato on Saturday.
Jackson Giacone and Rogan Bode each had a big weekend at the plate.
Giacone finished 5-for-6 over the two games with a pair of walks, an RBI and two runs, while Bode was 4-for-8 with a run and an RBI.
Cooper Ohlsen got the win on the mound in game two, pitching four solid innings and striking out three while giving up one hit and three walks.
Caden Vance and Miles Sorenson each also pitched well in relief.
Myles Standish got the start in game one and struck out six in 2.1 innings, while allowing three hits and a walk.
Standish also had a big game at the plate at Novato and finished 3-for-5 with two RBIs, while Reeves Richard and Robert Williams each was 2-for-3 with a double.
The Eureka JVs also played at San Marin on Friday and won 7-4.
Next up, the Loggers play at West County in Sebastopol on March 4.
