Cal Poly women make it three straight wins; men fall again

The Cal Poly Humboldt women’s basketball team won its third straight game in conference play on Thursday night, defeating Cal State Monterey Bay 70-59 on the road.

Kaz Parks scored a team-high 21 points in the win, as the Jacks outscored the home team 21-9 in the third quarter to pull away.

Madison Parry added 19 points and Ashley Peralta chipped in 17.

Freshman Jadence Clifton finished with six points, six assists, six rebounds and a pair of steals.

The Jacks improved to 6-6 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association and 7-9 overall, while the Otters dropped to 0-10 and 1-13.

The Humboldt men, meanwhile, lost their third straight conference game on Thursday night, falling 86-65 at Monterey.

The Jacks dropped to 4-9 in conference and 10-9 overall, while the Otters improved to 9-3 and 10-5.

Both Humboldt teams will play at San Francisco State on Saturday.
