Three-time Olympic gold medalist and two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion, Christie Pearce Rampone, is finally coming to Humboldt County.
Cal Poly Humboldt announced this week that Pearce Rampone will be the guest speaker at the athletic department’s 36th annual dinner and sports auction on April 9, two years after she was originally scheduled to attend.
Pearce Rampone will also hold a soccer clinic on campus of Cal Poly Humboldt on the morning of the event.
Tickets are now on sale for the dinner and sports auction, which will be held at the Blue Lake Casino and Hotel, while details of the soccer clinic will be released in the near future.
Pearce Rampone was originally scheduled to appear as the guest speaker at the annual dinner and auction in 2020, but the event was postponed twice because of COVID, before eventually being held live online without a guest speaker.
Cal Poly Humboldt did not hold a sports dinner and auction in 2021.
Individual tickets are $100, while a table, which seats eight people, costs $800.
All funds raised at the event will benefit Lumberjack student-athlete scholarships.
Pearce Rampone played in five World Cups and four Olympic Games and was captain of the U.S team for eight years.
She was a World Cup champion in 1999 and 2015 and took home Olympic gold medals in 2004, 2008 and 2012.
Tickets are available through the university athletic website.
