Cal Poly Humboldt ended a five-game losing streak in women’s basketball with their second win over Chico State this season, winning 69-58 on the road on Thursday night.
Freshman Jadence Clifton had a career night in her fifth straight start, finishing with season-highs in points (24), rebounds (eight) and minutes (37), while also shooting 8-of-9 from the free-throw line and coming away with two steals.
Madison Parry also had a big night with her fourth double-double of the season and finished with 13 points and 13 boards, while Ashley Peralta added 13 points and Kaz Parks had 10 points.
Clifton was 7-for-12 shooting from the field, including going two-for-two from 3-point land.
With the win, the Jacks improved to 4-6 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association and 5-9 overall, while Chico dropped to 4-5 and 7-7.
Next up, the Cal Poly women will host Stanislaus State on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
