HSU women drop another tough one in CCAA play

Humboldt State Athletics – Madison Parry

The Humboldt State women dropped a fifth straight game in the California Collegiate Athletic Association on Saturday afternoon, falling 70-60 at Cal State Dominguez Hills.

The Jacks, however, battled back late in the game to make for an exciting finish.

Trailing by 17 points one minute into the fourth, the HSU women went on an 11-0 run to pull themselves back into contention.

But that was as close as they would come, and the home team held on for the win to improve to 5-4 in the CCAA and 7-8 overall.

Madison Parry paced the Jacks with 19 points, while freshman Jadence Clifton continued her recent good run with her best performance of the season.

The Del Norte graduate finished with season-highs in points (14), rebounds (seven) and assists (seven).

With the loss, the Jacks drop to 3-6 in conference and 4-9 overall.

Next up, the Jacks will host Chico State on Thursday night at 5:30 p.m.
