The Fortuna boys basketball team got a much-needed win over Eel Valley neighbors Ferndale on Friday night, winning 53-28.
All nine Fortuna players scored in a balanced team performance as the Huskies took control early and never looked back.
Fortuna freshman Jake Houseworth continued his impressive run in the varsity team with a team-high 12 points, as the Huskies ended a five-game losing streak.
Alfonso Medina chipped in eight points in the win, while teammate Jordin Bourne finished with seven points.
Ferndale was led by Kannon Christiansen, who continued to impress with a game-high 14 points, while teammate Jack Westfall finished with seven points.
Thee Wildcats, who had just seven players available for the game, dropped to 3-10 on the season.
The Huskies, who improved to 8-12, will host Arcata in a Big 5 matchup on Tuesday.
