It was a double winning start to the season for the Fortuna’s girls basketball program on Saturday, as the Huskies varsity and JV teams both won their openers.

Teal Mostovoy led a balanced scoring attack with 14 points as the Huskies varsity team got the better of Fort Bragg 63-49 at Fortuna High.

Isobel Crosswhite added 10 points in the win, while teammates Gabby Stephens and Kylee Fennell each scored nine.

The Fortuna JVs also won, getting the better of St. Bernard’s 67-33.
