Betts shines as CR women bounce back at Sierra tournament

College of the Redwoods Athletics – Gracie Betts

Freshman Gracie Betts had her most productive game of the season offensively on Saturday, as the College of the Redwoods women bounced back from a tough loss on the basketball courts on Friday.

The former Fortuna Husky scored a team-high 20 points as the Corsairs got the better of conference rival Lassen by a score of 57-54 at the Sierra College tournament.

The win ended a two-game skid and the CR women closed out tourney play 1-2 after previously falling to Fresno City and Butte on back-to-back days.

Ashley Quigley continued to impress and had 17 points in the win.

With the victory, the Corsairs improved to 5-3 on the season.

Next up, the Corsairs will travel to play at the Shasta College tournament in two weeks.

Their home opener will take place on Dec. 14, when they host Mendocino.
