By Ray Hamill — The Eureka girls are North Coast Section champions for the second time in four seasons.
On Saturday afternoon, they won another intense battle against rivals Arcata in a championship showdown at McKinleyville High, winning 4-3 on a penalty shootout after both teams tied 0-0 through overtime.

“It was a classic battle between two teams where nobody wanted to give an inch,” Eureka head coach Tommy Learmouth said. “Both teams fought hard.”
