By Ray Hamill — The North Coast Section playoffs will make a welcome return this month with one noticeable change.

No H-DNL team has competed in a section playoff tournament in any sport since February 2020, but that will end in the coming weeks, with girls tennis, golf and volleyball all beginning soon, along with football and boys and girls soccer.

On Wednesday, however, the NCS offices announced that tickets for postseason games will now only be available digitally through GoFan and will no longer be available for cash at the gate.

According to a press release detailing the switch, “The new ticketing policy will allow a safer and enhanced experience for the students and fans while allowing the CIF NCS to operate more efficiently prior to the game and at the gate.

“Fans can buy tickets online by visiting the hosting school’s GoFan page and searching for the school at gofan.co.”

The NCS volleyball playoffs get under way the week of Oct. 25, with the soccer postseason kicking off the following week and football in the week of Nov. 8.

The H-DNL is advising any fans with questions or needing assistance to contact their local high school.

The press release went on to say, “Spectators can conveniently purchase through their smart phone using a web browser or the GoFan app.

“All major credit cards are accepted, along with Apple Pay. Cash sales will not be available at the gate.

“Fans are encouraged to buy tickets online prior to reaching the facility.”
