By Ray Hamill — The Humboldt State men’s soccer team is off to its best ever start, posting a program record sixth straight shutout to start the season this past weekend.
The Jacks defeated Chico State 1-0 on Saturday and are now 6-0, having outscored their opponents 15-0.
Last week, they broke into the national rankings, debuting at No. 13 in the NCAA Division II Men’s National Poll.
No. 5 Azusa Pacific is the only West Region team currently ranked ahead of the Jacks.
No. 25 Cal Poly Pomona is the only other California Collegiate Athletic Association team included in the national rankings.
The HSU men will try to keep their impressive run going when the host Cal State San Marcos on Friday at 12:30 p.m.
