The College of the Redwoods women dropped a pair of matches in volleyball at Santa Rosa on Friday, losing to the Bear Cubs and Marin College.

The Corsairs fell 15-25, 10-25, 12-25 to Santa Rosa and 17-25, 14-25, 21-25 to Marin.

Despite the losses and a tough schedule to open the new season, the CR women continue to show signs of improvement.

“They’re learning with each match and we’re playing better as a team,” head coach Petra Lorenzi said. “We just need to become more consistent at the little things.”

Makaila Napoleon led the way with six kills against Marin, while Addi Slaybaugh continued her impressive start to the campaign with five kills on .454 hitting.

Liberty Sateven also has been a bright spot for CR early in the season, finishing with 12 digs against Marin.
