Redwood Acres Raceway officials are encouraging fans to purchase tickets for this Saturday’s event in advance, with attendance set to be limited to 50 percent capacity because of COVID restrictions.

Admission is $10 and tickets can be purchased online at, as well as at Automasters and Don’s Rent-All in Eureka; McKinleyville Barber Shop in McKinleyville; and JC Auto in Fortuna.

Tickets will also be available at the gate on Saturday unless all pre-sale tickets have been sold.

Raceway officials also announced this week that an additional race date has been added to the 2021 schedule, and the September Legends Of The Redwoods will now be a two-day event with races on Friday September 10 and Saturday September 11.

The most recent racing night on July 31 featured a record number of drivers in the Legends division, with 20 cars showing up. With additional prize money being on the line for the Legends Of The Redwoods, raceway officials are hoping the two-day event will attract as many if not more Legends drivers.

The location and date for the 2021 awards banquet, meanwhile, has been finalized and it will be held at the Elks Lodge on the evening of November 7.

This weekend’s event will feature all local classes, with the Late Models, Legends, Bombers, Mini Stocks and Roadrunners all in action.

Gates open at 4 p.m. with the racing getting under way at 5:30 p.m.
