Schedules set for district Little League All-Star tournaments

By Ray Hamill — The schedules have been set for the three district Little League All-Star tournaments, two of which get under way this weekend.

The 10s tournament, which will feature five teams, will be hosted by Arcata and will begin on Saturday.

Redwood Empire and McKinleyville will get the action started at noon, followed by Eel River and Klamath Trinity at 2:30 p.m.

Arcata will play the winner of the Eel River/Klamath Trinity game at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, and the double-elimination tournament will run through Wednesday at least.

The 11s tournament, meanwhile, will feature just three teams, with Eel River and Redwood Empire getting things started on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in McKinleyville.

The hosts will play the winner of that game on Sunday at 9:30 a.m., and the tournament is scheduled to run through Tuesday or Wednesday.

The 12-year-old tournament will begin next week on Friday, July 2, and will be hosted by Eel River.

The tournament will feature teams from all six local little league association.

Southern Humboldt and Eel River get things started on opening day at 4:30 p.m., followed by McKinleyville and Arcata at 7 p.m.

The winners of those games will play Redwood Empire and Klamath Trinity on day two.
