Crusaders celebrate senior night with a big win

St. Bernard’s closed out the boys basketball season with a comfortable win over Hoopa on Wednesday night.

The Crusaders won 74-49 and finish the short season with a record of 4-4.

Remy Campbell, one of five seniors on this year’s team, closed out strong, scoring a game-high 17 points, while teammate Peyton Smith had one of his best games of the year.

Smith finished with 16 points, including four 3-pointers.

Lito Pabalate added 15 points in his final high school game, while Drew Vizenor scored nine and Seth Deyer seven.

In addition to Campbell and Pabalate, this year’s senior class also included Bode Joyner, Octavio Romo and Micah Duncan.

The Warriors were led by sophomore Brendan Baldy, who further showcased his potential with a team-high 12 points in the loss.

Ben Hunsucker added nine points for a young Hoopa team, which remains winless at 0-7, while teammate Daniel Minton scored seven and Lane Campbell six.

Hoopa closes out the season at home to Ferndale on Friday night.
