Loggers honor their seniors before home opener

By Ray Hamill — The Eureka girls honored five seniors before tipping off their season opener in basketball against South Fork on Thursday.

This year’s class includes Keylei Carroll, Bella Vigil, Melody Bareilles and Maddie Woods, as well as team manager Madison Broese, who also played with the team for the past three years.

“Senior leadership is important to bond a good team to be great,” head coach Michael Harvey said. “These seniors do it very well, mixing in hard work, a positive attitude and a family environment.”

The seniors were introduced to the crowd along with their family and friends before the game.

The Loggers won the game 65-20, with all four senior players having an impact.

Bareilles scored nine points in the win, with Vigil and Woods each scoring five and Carroll four.

The Loggers host St. Bernard’s on Saturday.
