The Hoopa Warriors kept their unbeaten run going in H-DNL softball on Saturday, improving to 10-0 with a doubleheader sweep over South Fork.
The Warriors had to battle in the opener, winning 7-5, before taking the nightcap 10-0.
Tatianna Colegrove struck out 10 for the win in the circle in the opener, while also getting one of her team’s five base hits.
Nalani Colegrove, Bethany Masten, Bella Valentine and Zoe Booth each also had a hit in the win.
South Fork pitchers Summer Contreras and Cloe McConnell combined to hold the red-hot Hoopa bats to just five hits.
McConnell, a freshman, pitched four innings, allowing no walks and striking out five.
At the plate for the Cubs, Olivia Ward and Lyndsee Brewer each had two hits, including a triple by Ward.
Brewer also drove in a run, while teammate Kaylei Pogue was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and Contreras and Joslin Todd each also had a hit.
Hoopa’s Savannah Colegrove got the win in the circle in game two, striking out eight in five innings and holding the Cubs to just two hits.
She got plenty of help from her offense, with seven different players combining for 12 hits.
Masten, Tatianna Colegrove and Jewely Bibancos each had two hits, including a double, while K-Lynn Dowd and Savannah Colegrove each had two hits.
Beyonce Bussell and Nae-rew Martin each also had a hit.
Todd and Pogue each had a hit for South Fork.
The Cubs are now 6-6.
