By Ray Hamill — Eight games into the new baseball season and there appears to be no slowing down Jaden Gorge.

The former Arcata Tiger and Humboldt Eagle has hit successfully in all eight games for Shasta College and is batting .500 on the season, the best mark in the Golden Valley Conference.

Gorge is also second in the conference in stolen bases with five.

Shasta is 4-4 on the season after splitting a doubleheader against Siskiyous on Thursday, winning game one 14-10 before dropping the nightcap 7-1.

Gorge, who had one hit in each game, now has three doubles and six RBIs on the season.

The Knights play two games at College of the Siskiyous on Saturday.
