H-DNL volleyball to begin next week without fans

By Ray Hamill — The H-DNL announced this week that the league volleyball season will begin on Monday, with seven teams scheduled to compete.

The season will be just three weeks long, with games played three times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the final round of games on April 15.

And no spectators will be allowed under the current health guidelines.

The action begins with Del Norte at Arcata, McKinleyville at St. Bernard’s and Eureka at Fortuna.

On Tuesday, McKinleyville travels to Arcata, Eureka plays at Del Norte and St. Bernard’s plays at Fortuna.

The Hoopa girls will also field a team, but will have a bye on the opening two nights and won’t begin play until Thursday, when they host Fortuna. 

South Fork and Ferndale will not field teams.
