Hunter Blevins shot a 79 to lead the field in the latest round of H-DNL boys golf on Monday, as the Eureka Loggers won for the third time in three league meets.
Playing at Baywood Golf and Country Club, Blevins held off the challenge of Arcata’s Kyle Plumley to win by just two strokes.
It was the Eureka senior’s first win of the season.
Plumley shot an 81 to maintain his impressive start to the season, with teammate Riley Mosher shooting an 86.
Eureka freshman Talon Vigil was next best with a round of 88, with St. Bernard’s freshman Jack Kramer just one stroke further back with an 89.
With three golfers shooting under 100, the Loggers (365) comfortably won the team competition, 30 strokes ahead of both Arcata and St. Bernard’s, who tied for second.
St. Bernard’s Cayden Lee had the sixth best round of the day with a 95, while Eureka’s Colton Tracy shot a 97 and teammate Julian Goodman a 101.
Top golfer for McKinleyville was Jayce Larkins with a 107, while Cody Gamble led South Fork with a 111.
Next up, the H-DNL boys will play at the Eureka Municipal Golf Course on Wednesday of next week.
