By Ray Hamill — Ferndale freshman Reaghan Langer got her high school career off to a flying start at St. Bernard’s on Wednesday in a debut she will not likely forget anytime soon.
Langer scored a pair of goals in the final 20 minutes, including the game winner on the final kick of the game, which took a fortuitous deflection on its way to the back of the net.

The freshman standout was one of several Wildcats to impress in the win, in what was the program’s first game since the fall of 2018.
Ferndale won the game 2-1.
“The difference in the game was they didn’t hang their heads and they stayed positive (when SB took the lead),” Ferndale head coach Beth Anderson said. “I was super impressed with all of them. It was their first time playing in a game and they all played hard and played through the struggles of when we hit the wall.”
Earlier in the half, Jessica Rutter had given the home team a 1-0 advantage.
