By Ray Hamill — Former Humboldt State star Alex Cappa continues to lead all NFC guards in fan voting for the Pro Bowl, with a little more than a week remaining to vote.
The third-year NFL pro, who plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, now has 51,455 votes, according to the latest figures released by the league this week.
After four standout years playing for the Lumberjacks, Cappa was drafted by the Bucs in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, winning a starting spot on the offensive line last season.
This year he has started all 12 games for the team, allowing just 22 quarterback pressures.
The Bucs are 7-5 and in the thick of the playoff hunt.
Cappa is one of two players on the team leading the conference in Pro Bowl voting at their position, along with cornerback Carlton Davis III, who has 45,387 votes.
