The San Jose State Spartans will end a near two-week stay at Humboldt State on Wednesday evening, when they return to Santa Clara County.
Following a morning practice session at the Redwood Bowl, the Spartans will return to their own campus after being the green light to do so by local health officials.
San Jose State and Humboldt State reached an agreement two weeks ago to allow the Spartans use the Lumberjacks’ facilities in preparation for the Mountain West Conference, which kicks off later this month.
According to Humboldt State, if COVID-19 restrictions in Santa Clara County should downgrade again, the Jacks “will consult with Humboldt County Public Health and SJSU about the viability of the team’s return to HSU to proceed safely for practice and/or competition.”
The Spartans are scheduled to open their season at home to Air Force on October 24.
Approximately 140 players coaches and essential staff made the trip to Humboldt County, with no one testing positive for COVID-19 despite persistent testing.
