By Ray Hamill — One week after being given the go-ahead from the North Coast Section, the H-DNL looks likely to kick off the prep football season in mid-February.
The H-DNL still has to get the green light from state and local health officials, but as of right now the league jamborees are tentatively set for the weekend of February 12/13, with the first games tentatively set for the following weekend.
The season will run for nine weeks and will include an all-local schedule with none of the teams traveling out of the area.
Each team is expected to play each of the other eight H-DNL teams once, with four all-local games and one team on a bye every weekend.
This means South Fork will return to 11-player football for at least one season after playing eight-person football for the past few years.
The H-DNL season is expected to run through the weekend of April 9/10 with no NCS or state playoffs for any of the teams.
