2020 Redwood Acres season winding down

Photo by Sherie Bialous – The Mini Stocks will be in action at the Redwood Acres Raceway on Saturday.

Racing returns to the Redwood Acres Raceway on Saturday, with the second-to-last event of the season.

Four of the five divisions will be on hand, with the action getting under way at 3 p.m., and once again no fans will be allowed in attendance, with the racing streamed live online through the raceway’s Facebook page.

A number of season championships look set to go down to the wire, most notably the Bomber division, where just one point separates leader Sam Brown from the unrelated Donnie Brown.

This Saturday’s Bomber feature will have a special payout to the top three finishers with the winner receiving $300.

The track championship in the Mini Stock division appears to be just as exciting and is shaping up to be a three-man race.

Fortuna’s Gary Klinetobe leads C.J. Dalton by two points while Brett Murrell in third place and just six points off the lead.

The Legends championship also looks set to go down to the wire, with season leader Dane Nissen holding a slender three-point advantage over James Nichols.

The top five for Saturday’s Legends main will also receive a special payout with $500 going to the winner.

In the Roadrunner division, meanwhile, season leader Bryan Brandt leads JR Brandt by 12 points, while in the Late Models division, Dustin Walters leads the season championship with Eugene Palmer 15 points back and Ed Rasmussen three points further back.

The Late Models will not be in action on Saturday but will return for the season-ending Fall Spectacular on September 26.

Saturday’s action is sponsored by Eureka Oxygen, and there will not be a test and tune on Friday.

Pit passes are available to purchase online at RacinTheAcres.com while registration forms can be downloaded under the rules section of the website.

Participants are encouraged to submit their entries as soon as possible.
