The next round of racing at the Redwood Acres Raceway on August 15 will include the Upstate Bomber Series, which will be making its one and only local appearance of the summer.

The series, which last summer featured 50 cars, was scheduled to appear at the Redwood Acres in May and June, but both events were canceled because of the pandemic.

But they will be back next week for a 50-lap event that will pay out $1,000 to the winner.

The annual series began last summer and also featured races at the Ukiah and Shasta speedways, with Mike Lovell winning three times to claim the season championship.

Two Upstate Bomber Series races were held at the Redwood Acres last season, with Mike Doss and Charley Tour each winning one.

A second series race this summer will be held in Ukiah in September.

More detailed information on the race payouts is available on the Ukiah Speedway Facebook page.

The Roadrunners, Mini Stocks and Legends will also be in action at the Redwood Acres on August 15, while the Late Models will have a bye.

There will also be a test and tune on Friday August 14 from 3 to 8 p.m.
