By Ray Hamill — After placing second at the season-opening event three weeks ago, Bryan Brandt made no mistake this time around, taking first place in the Roadrunner main event at the Redwood Acres Raceway on Saturday.

There was plenty of excitement on the second race day of the year, with different winners in all five divisions competing.

And that included Brandt, who switched places with Jeremiah Martin, a first-time winner at the track three weeks ago who placed second this time around.

If the first couple of race days are anything to go by, the Roadrunner division could be one of the most competitive this summer.

In the Late Models division, none of the top three from the season opener featured in the top three on Saturday.

This time around, it was Luke Hall who took first in what is shaping up to be a deep field of drivers, with Eugene Palmer in second and Ed Rasmussen in third.

In the Bombers division, meanwhile, Loren Powers paced the field in the main event, with Charlie Tour second and Sam Brown in third.

Dane Nissen also had a successful day at the track, placing first in the Legends division main event, after finishing second on opening day.

Tyler Krupa was next across the line, securing a second straight top-three finish, with Chris Sarvinski in third.

In the Mini Stocks, Jarrett Mayo took first, also finishing one spot better than last time, with Gary Klientobe in second and Gannon Cyphers in third.

The racing was again held without fans in attendance, with the action streamed live online.
