New Humboldt State men’s basketball head coach Tae Norwood has been busy at work since taking over the program a few weeks ago, announcing the signing of three more players to this year’s recruiting class this week.
Matthew Brookins, Kody Knox and Bryce Mitchell will join a recruiting class that now includes five freshmen and two transfers.
Brookins is a 6-foot-6 strong forward who graduated from Westminster High School this past Spring.
“Matt is a developing post with a lot of upside,” Norwood said. “He is skilled and moves really well for his size.”
Knox will transfer to HSU from Los Angeles Valley College and is a graduate of Viewpoint High School.
“Kody brings added experience to the roster,” Norwood said “His ability to score and rebound are well documented. I think he can be an asset defensively, both as a lock down defender in the half-court and in our full-court pressure.”
Mitchell is a 6-5 guard who graduated from Cathedral High School this past spring.
“Bryce brings added size and depth at the wing position,” said Norwood. “His ability to shoot the ball and score in transition will be a great fit in our up-tempo style of play.”
