Humboldt County’s Cass Bell officially made weight on Thursday morning, ahead of Friday night’s big showdown against Raufeon Stots at Bellator 242.
Bell, who is unbeaten in five pro MMA fights, weighed in at 135.2 pounds for the bantamweight fight, with Stots coming in at 135.6 pounds.
The fight is part of the preliminary card of the first Bellator event since February, with the main event featuring Ricky Bandejas and Sergio Pettis, each of whom also made weight on Thursday.
Bell is expected to face his biggest challenge yet when he fights the experienced Stots, who is 13-1, but the former Arcata High wrestler has been told that victory this week will leave him just one win from a potential Bellator title fight.
The preliminary fights, which will be televised on DAZN’s YouTube channel, get under way at 5:45 p.m. Pacific time.
Friday night’s fights will take place in Connecticut.
