By Ray Hamill — The sound of a base hit rarely seemed so beautiful.

On Saturday, after more than three months without any official games here on the North Coast, local team sports returned with a doubleheader of American Legion baseball action at the Arcata Little League Fields.

The Northern Humboldt Giants swept both ends of a doubleheader against the Tehama Bulls, winning 6-1 and 11-1.
