By Ray Hamill — No one provided better video highlights locally this past football season than St. Bernard’s senior Lane Thrap.
The three-sport standout was particularly spectacular as a receiver, making numerous athletic plays, thanks in large part to some pinpoint passing from quarterback Will Omey.
The duo combined on 23 TDs passes, and both led the North Coast Section statistically at their respective positions. They connected on four TDs in a 49-8 win over Arcata (see highlights above).
This week Thrap announced he will play at Santa Rosa JC in the fall, joining a top community college program to kick off his college career.
So what better time to take a look back at some of Thrap’s highlights from his final high school campaign.
Thrap says he is looking forward to the opportunity to join the Bear Cubs, where he will play alongside Eureka quarterback Trevor Bell, who is also taking his talents to Santa Rosa, as well as former St. Bernard’s teammate Micah Fontenot-Cornely, who will be a red-shirt sophomore with the team in the fall.
